What area's of the U.S. are more prone to roaches, ants, mice?

I grew up in Pittsburgh Pa and never once remember having a roach in our house or hearing our neighbors complain about roaches. Once in a blue moon, did we hear someone say they caught a mouse. The most comman thing I would hear about would be about ants and that was during the summer months, but they would be easily controlled. I had lived in Corpus Christi Tx for about three years. It seemed like no matter how clean you kept your place and how much you sprayed, you always saw a roach. But you would not find as many if the house was cleaner and sprayed often. But you still got them. Only once we had a mouse and caught it by a sticky pad. We lived in a row of town houses which I think are more prone for these types of pests. I'm just curious to know where are the most common places in the states to have problems with these pests and what are common ways people use to get rid of them and to keep them away. What area's of the U.S. are more prone to roaches, ants, mice?
Florida has more roaches than anyplace I've ever been in the world. They claim they have NO roaches...but they do have Palmetto Bugs. And, of course, a Palmetto Bug is just an enormous roach. (Take the biggest cockroach you've ever seen, and imagine it on steroids...)

Awful things...
