How do you kill of mice that invade your garage?

Mousetrap. How do you kill of mice that invade your garage?
Since you already have mice, you can either trap the mice in humane traps and release them far away, or you can kill them.

If you do choose to kill them, I would HIGHLY recommend that you do not use any type of poison, like rat poison.

Rat poison does in fact cause the rodents to slowly bleed to death. Their final resting place will in fact NOT be where you placed the poison. Rather, they will find some other hidden place to pass away where they will decompose and cause a stench. Whatever surface they are resting on also has a potential to stain from the blood as they will bleed out.

You are much better off investing in some inexpensive, old fashioned mouse traps so you can properly dispose of the mice.

With either type of trap, humane or otherwise, a small smear of peanut butter on the trap mechanism works well.

Once you eliminate the mice, take steps to make sure they don't come back. There was a reason they decided to invade your garage - some type of food source (like bird food or grass seed) is a common mouse incentive.

Bonide products makes a mouse repellent called ';Mouse Magic'; which is effective and safe to use if you have kids. It is a combination of peppermint and spearmint oils on a corncob base which is contained in what looks like a big tea bag. You put one or several in the area where you don't want mice and presto...the mice go somewhere else.

You have to replenish it about every 30 days in a big space like a garage, but the really good part is that it's safe and you don't have to deal with dead mice in your garage.

Bug Doc
Seriously. Do really you really want to kill them? If not, then don't read on.

Good, you aren't squeamish. Pest control is no place for wimps.

First. Let's touch on Hantavirus. Mice are carriers. Nesting material is what will get you becasue the urine soaked dust and bedding becomes airborne and enters your lungs... which is how Hantavirus gets you.

OK. You really want to kill the little buggers right? Water trap.

5 gallon bucket. String a rope over it. Tie the ends to where they can climb on the rope. Put a used paper towel tube (or PVC scrap) on the rope above the bucket. Put peanut butter on the center of the tube... they are freaky for that stuff.

The mouse climbs on the roll and, ';Kerplop!';, drowned mouse.

Happy killin'
I had the same problem and I bought plug ins from my local hardware store, you plug them into an electrical socket and they emit a tone so high that the human ear does not pick it up but the mice do and they DO NOT LIKE IT so they leave, I have had no problems since installing them.
I would use humane traps and then dispose of the little critters in a field far away from your home. I had a similar problem, and used 4 traps and the mice were gone after about three days. Then about two weeks later, I got a cat and that kept them away for ever.
thats cruel ! just move them somewhere DO NOT KILL THEM you have no right animals were here before us and you built your home over theres so they should be the ones killing you in al honesty but its not there fault so do not kill them !
get rat poison (otherwise known as warfarin) and follow instructions. It kills the mice by thinning the blood.

p.s. if you have children keep it away from them !
so many choices:

rat poison

glue traps

non-poisious snakes

rat traps.
i leave them alone...i figure if they are in my garage they aren't in my house...neighborhood cats will soon find them...
put some food in a bucket, they'll fall in it and won't be able to climb out
Put in mice traps and spray poison.
