What do snakes eat BESIDES MICE?

I'm asking this again because basically the other time the answers were ';More mice';

If the only thing this animal can possibly eat through its centuries of life and adaptation mice than simply say ';They only eat mice.'; Thank you. What do snakes eat BESIDES MICE?
What a snake will and wont eat depends on its individual situation, if you have a wild caught animal it will be more likely to eat a larger variety of things than captive bred snakes who are pretty much conditioned to survive on the more easily accessible types of prey. Many captives will take other types of food though, that is rather dependent on the species and where they originate from, royal pythons, for example, have a diet consisting of mostly gerbils in the wild so would probably be quite willing to give them a go. In general though most snakes will eat any rodent that is put in front of them, including gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, rabbits and even the family chinchilla if they can get hold of it!! They will also eat birds, lizards, other snakes and the garter snake feeds pretty exclusively on fish. A hungry snake will eat what it can get but ignore anyone who tells you bugs and insects or fruit and veg cos they will simply ignore any amount of that you throw in for them, it's not something they recognise as food, hope this helps ;-)What do snakes eat BESIDES MICE?
That would depend entirely upon which species of snake you are referring to- each species has it's own dietary requirements.

Most of the species that are fed mice in captivity will eat other warm blooded prey, such as birds and rodents.

If you are thinking about getting a snake, but are too squeamish to feed it mice, then you can choose a species that eats other types of prey; however, these species are generally difficult for a beginner.
It really depends on what size they are and if they are pets or wild. Usually when they first hatch wild ones small insects, frogs, their siblings what ever they can get there jaws around usually. As they get bigger there prey gets bigger rabbits, cats, birds etc. Pets and captive snake are usually fed mice 'cause it's convenient for their owners(not all owners) usually pinkies when snakes are little, but could also small insects (mimicking wild diet), rats and chickens and such when they get bigger, usually the animals are knocked out before being fed to the snake for the animals safety. I hope this helps.
Depends on the snake. Some Arboreal (tree-dwelling) snakes will only eat lizards and some will only eat birds. I have had a few that WILL NOT eat mice at all...in fact, some will starve to death rather than eating a mouse.

The best practice, though most idiots fail to do this, is to research the animal in question and learn about its natural habitat and behavior. Then match your enclosure and diet accordingly. I believe in learning about every animal no matter how common they may be.

A few tricks of the trade:

1) When you acquire a snake, find out if it has grown accustomed to live or thawed food. If it is used to live food then it may take time and effort to get it to eat thawed. These snakes are used to the movement and sent of the prey which is non-existent in frozen mice.

2) If you have an arboreal that will only eat birds or chics, try scenting the mouse with chicken broth....Im not kidding! It works. It saved one of my snakes.

3) If a snake doesn't eat, its not the snake...it's you. You have placed the snake in a very unfamiliar environment whether it be too hot, too cold, too arid, too humid, etc. Another very important factor is whether the snake is nocturnal or not. These snakes will rarely feed in the presence of light. Most of the time simply covering the cage with a box while feeding will do, but some can actually tell the difference between darkness and actual nighttime.

Hope this helps.

Different Types of snakes eat different animals and insect.

It includes:

frog

rabbit

different insects

other snakes

small and medium sized animal like baby tiger or baby deer and many

Anaconda is a type of snake which can even eat a big deer (ofcourse it is the biggest snake on earth).

It really depends on what snake you have and what size it is. Basically snake food ranges between mice, rats, hamsters, eggs, guinea pigs, rabbits and even chickens. (These are the foods people would generally feed their pet snakes) Snakes in the wild will also eat birds, lizards, goats and deer.
it depends on the snake some of the things snakes eat are:

eggs

other snakes and reptiles

minnows

birds

bunnies

guinea pigs

goats

quail

the most common things that pet snakes eat are mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs and quail. but they eat all kinds of things in the wild...especially the larger snakes like retics and burms and anacondas.
it depends totally on the species of snake

corn snkaes eat mainly rodents, like mice, rats and the like

milk snakes eat amphibians and roadents

garter snakes eat everything from worms to fish and amphibians

eggs eating snakes eat eggs

there are plenty of species of insectivore snake

king's snakes eat rodents amphibians and other snakes and lizards

there are plenty of arboreal species that eat eggs birds and small mammals

maybe if you told us more about the snake you wanted to know about some1 could help you
Snakes that take rodents will usually also eat frogs, lizards, birds, rats and any other rodent. There are some species of snake that eat insects of various kinds...some like my snail eater will only take snails and slugs. Nothing else.
Large snakes eat other small snakes also. besides this they eat small birds, animals, rodents ( animals of rat family ) and reptiles like lizards, frogs etc.
Worms, insects, eggs of other animals or small mammals. As for a pet snake, it is typical to feed the snake mice.

Are elephants really afraid of mice?

I'm getting a mouse, and I can't have my elephant getting scared of him.Are elephants really afraid of mice?
They are NOT it is a myth....

http://extremescience.com/elephants-mice鈥?/a>

An exerpt from that link...

'; It's not clear where the idea came from, but many people have theorized that elephants might be afraid of mice because they fear that the tiny creatures will crawl inside their trunks, irritating or blocking them. Elephants in captivity have been exposed to mice because they are frequently found in and around the elephants' feed (hay). Many caretakers have observed mice crawling on the trunks and faces of (awake) elephants and observed that the elephants take absolutely no notice of the mice, much less express fear or anxiety in their presence. Based on observations of interactions between elephants and mice, and the apparent peaceful coexistence, it's unclear where the myth may have originated. ';

So you can get your mouse and introduce it to your elephant without concern. Maybe they could live together and run round the same wheel ! (not just for hamsters !).Are elephants really afraid of mice?
No - it turns out that that common myth dates back to an ancient Indian situation where a father elephant was trying to teach his son how to catch mice and he ran into a baby kangaroo instead. It scarred him for life, and forever after anytime he encountered a mouse, he would run and hide. Bob Warner (one of the Famous Warner Brothers) heard about this and turned it into a cartoon.
no. this is simply a myth, which is supposed to teach that even the largest, strongest, toughest people are scared of things that the rest of us think are silly.
The Mythbusters outcome was that elephants did not like mice and changed direction to avoid one. The evidence did suggest that they were nervous around them...

...no-one asked the mouse what he thought of it all.
Mythbusters took a stab at this one: worth watching.

Connections between chpt six in mice of men and real life?

im doing a project and i need to find relationships between the last chpt of mice and men (lenny runs away cuz he killed curlys wife, he hallucinates and sees his aunt and a rabbit talking to him, then lenny get shot by george). it could be in books, movies ,real life, anythingConnections between chpt six in mice of men and real life?
George tosses the gun away and is immediately accosted by the wandering group of vigilantes. He says that, yes, Lennie did have Carlson's gun until he wrestled it away from him. Slim immediately picks up on what happened here, and tries to assure George that he did the honorable thing. As the two men leave, Carlson and Curley are left behind, completely puzzled at why George and Slim seem so bothered.

Do hamsters and mice get along with other hamsters and mice?

I have a hamster, male, and was wondering if i introduced another hamster, would they get along; i know with cats or dogs sometimes they dont, or they have to be kept separated at first.Do hamsters and mice get along with other hamsters and mice?
Hi,

With syrian hamsters you can not keep them together, one cage one hamster is the golden rule here.

With mice, it can be different, females can live in single sexed groups and live happily. Males on the other hand will not tolerate another male near him once he is mature. You could put a female with him, but in 21 days or so, there will be a lot more of them.

Hamsters and mice don't like each other either, they will fight and cause serious injury or even death to one or both of your animals.Do hamsters and mice get along with other hamsters and mice?
Male rodents usually like to establish dominance over another, so they would probably fight. It may not be true of all cases, but for the most part the older of the two or the first one there will want to be the alpha male. If they were females they'd probably be fine.
Well seeing how mice travel in packs I would think they would get along with each other I am not sure about hamsters though.
well u should try 1 male and 1 female then try 2 males and 2 females

hope i have helped:))
if the hamster is syrain dont try! they will fight to the death!
i think so

I have a several birdfeeders and am finding that I have many mice that are coming out at night.?

I've been using a .177 pellet gun to shoot them, but that requires me staying up at night! Perhaps De-Con is the way??I have a several birdfeeders and am finding that I have many mice that are coming out at night.?
They're probably eating the seeds that fall to the ground. Don't use D-Con because other animals are also doing the same thing. Like rabbits. Don't like mice, get a cat.I have a several birdfeeders and am finding that I have many mice that are coming out at night.?
If your feeders are on poles (metal) grease the poles, that might help. Don't use the De-Con, like everyone else has stated. If your feeders are on tree limbs then i don't see that you have a choice, just let the little critters eat the seed.
I would suggest you just clean up the excess seed every few days. Don't put down any poison- other small animals could eat it ( including the birds) and die a horrible death.

If you have any pets like dogs or cats , it could kill them, too.

All those mice are food for the various raptor type birds like owls ( that hunt at night ) and hawks, too. Unless they start moving into your house, I'd just let nature take care of their numbers, and give a raptor a meal!
mice LOVE bird seed. they'll eat that stuff like crazy! squirrells, too!
Mice reproduce at an astonishing rate. I had started out with two pet mice and in a months time had 26. Try snakes or predators of mice. Or De-Con.

How was the migrating in the book of mice and men different from now?

George and Lennie moved from place to place by hitch hiking, walking, and illegally riding freight trains. Their migrant worker lifestyle was facilitated by an agricultural system which catered to groups of unattached men, willing to live cheaply and simply in bunk houses, and eat camp food. Wages were typically paid in cash, and little or no identification or personal history was expected by employers, or offered by the migrant workers.

Today, most employers are required to check identification such as I9 forms, passports, Social Security records, and sometimes health information. Pay is often by direct deposit to bank accounts, which require photo identification, and credit checks. Few employers provide housing, because of the obligations that creates for them under later health and welfare provisions. Because of these changes, migrant work is no longer the haven for criminals it once was in America, but neither is it as attractive an option as it once was for able bodied, but mentally challenged people like Lennie.

Ugh...how to get rid of too-smart mice?

So as I sit here typing this, this little mouse is periodically coming out and walking around under the coffee table and by my TV. The stupid thing is too smart for the glue traps, which were working really well for me before... he's completely going around them. I've been watching.

I thought I'd gotten rid of the mice! I have a couple of snap traps, but last time I used them, the stupid things ate all the peanut butter off without setting them off.

I just want them OUT of my apartment. They are disgusting, and I do NOT appreciate their little ';gifts'; on my carpet...not to mention my kitchen countertops.

Any suggestions? I really don't want to spray poison in my home, and I don't want to poison them and have them die in my walls....I just want them OUT...

Are those things that emit high-pitched sounds good? Would I need one in each room in my apartment to keep them out?

Any good suggestions welcome! Thanks!Ugh...how to get rid of too-smart mice?
I don't know where you live, but if they got in, they can get out.

Make sure the only water they can get to, is out of your house. Then place some crushed Alka Selzer in small bowls where they can get to it.

Add some flavoring, preferably a dry type. And let them eat.

    Mice can not pass gas.

They become dry and fill the need for water, when they drink, well, they won't be bothering you anymore.Ugh...how to get rid of too-smart mice?
I have the same issue- Please if you get an answer let me know - I am freaking out- Like scared to get off my bed at night thinking it will jump on me.

    :(
Try moth balls. Mice--and many other creatures--can't stand the smell.

If that doesn't work, get a cat!
The high pitched things work for me, but not everyone. Good luck getting rid of the little smart thing.
ive used a small piece of bacon or ham tied onto the tab of a mouse trap with a piece of dental floss.

You will need a bucket, empty toilet paper roll and peanut butter:

http://glass.typepad.com/journal/2005/09鈥?/a>Theres a mice in my bedroom I dnt want to use any traps glue thingos i live far away from somewhere i can get?
Actually cats usually create more of a mouse problem then they correct by the mice eating at unattended food bowls and also eating cat feces. Once you have a mouse infestation it is too late to get rid of any food items in hopes the mouse will leave, however you need to get rid of any food items that a mouse can get to (this includes any food in a cardboard container as mice can chew through these.) Make sure that your refrigerator is sealed, the common mouse can fit through an opening the diameter of a #2 pencil so many times i see them going in and out of refrigerators with people completely shocked that the mouse is doing so. Also you need to remove any clutter and search for mice nests (these will be in out of the way places by walls and made of shredded paper.) You next need to catch and kill the mouse (one female mouse can have 10 litters of 5-7 mice a year resulting in a mean offspring production of 62 mice a year, letting just one mouse escape can lead to thousands of mice and a huge infestation in a very short period of time.) Since it sounds like you live in the sticks you have only 2 options, one (which i definitely recommend you try 1st) is to put together a bucket trap http://www.kountrylife.com/content/gal10鈥?/a> (these is so easy to do even school children can do it) the second method is making your own grain poison, and you can google and find many recipes for this, however it is very dangerous if you have any kids, pets, and also outside wildlife such as birds and foraging animals may be killed from it.
get a cat , then you won't have to deal with dead mice.
wah hoo is right but then you have to deal with cat doo doo. Which is worse?

  • What does ob/ob mean when talking about mice?

The OB/OB mouse is a mouse that lacks the gene to make leptin. As you may know, leptin is a protein secreted by fat cells that is anorexigenic (tells you to stop eating). So mice lacking the ability to make leptin become obese because they seem to be lacking the signal that tells them not to eat. Interestingly, if OB/OB mice are given leptin, they lose weight. This started a huge interest in leptin as a potential weight-loss drug, with the rationale that maybe we could just give obese folks leptin, and this would cause them to stop eating and lose weight.

Interestingly, it was found that obese people actually have very high circulating levels of leptin. So it was postulated that maybe leptin acts as an adipostat- it lets the brain know how much fat is in the body (which explains why obese people would have such high leptin levels). People who are obese may have problems not with how much leptin they are making, but with their leptin receptors, which are responsible for relaying leptin's signals that tell us we do not need food. What does ob/ob mean when talking about mice?

You have the wrong assumption. Most medical students don't get close to research. So why worry about mice. I suggest you seek counseling.Does all psychiatric/biological research involve experimenting on mice?
In neuroscience we use rats more often than mice ;-)

I'm assuming that's not what you want either. I cannot speak to the clinical M.D. side, but on the research Ph.D. side, rodents are extremely helpful tools. Sure, you can do some useful non-invasive or minimally-invasive experiments with human volunteer subjects. But some important research is necessarily life-threatening to the subject, and those experiments just can't be done on humans for obvious reasons. You need animal models: mammals that are easy to work with and biologically similar to humans. Mice and rats are often the solution to that problem.
No. All kinds of subjects are used. Mice are used a lot because they are cheap to maintain and easy to manipulate. Plus they make excellent subjects for showing to cameras because they behave like people's basest instincts but without looking like people so it's not as creepy as watching monkeys.
Read all the books in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy to find out the truth about mice.....

    It will amaze you...

How do i seal a door to prevent mice from coming in?

Following along with the other answers, some of the most common areas that mice get in are around water and drainage pipes in the house. A good way to seal those area up is with spray foam insulation, whether from ';great stuff'; or dap. However do not use that product around doors and windows it can cause sticking. Stick with the silicone products there. Good LuckHow do i seal a door to prevent mice from coming in?

What are 5 themes in the novel, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck?

    1. Loneliness is felt and expressed in different ways.

    2. George- no home of his own constant traveling no ';adult'; companionship, no wife/children/family.

    3. Lennie- no home of his own no family, abnormally big and strong excluded because of his retardation

    4. Candy- missing hand causes pain, older than everyone else, often alone, no one truly cares for him thought of as useless

    5. Crooks- only black man, excluded b/c of it. may not sleep, go out, or eat or talk with others. lives far away from others, crippled older than the others often alone

it takes more than that to repel mice. having a cat will help a lot!!
This is true!!!! Just so long as they are strong and new. Mice tend to be very receptive to smells and try to avoid humans as much as possible. So if it smells like a human, they won't want to go there. Give it a try. Worked for me in our old house that was infested and we didn't now it till we moved in. Just be sure to replace them every couple of weeks.
Haven't heard that one. I live in the country. We fill all our cracks with steel wool. (They hate the feel on their teeth) It has really kept them out of our cabinets. We also use a powdered fox urine around the house(outside) to repel them from even trying to come in. You will have to re-apply after a heavy rain. Check your local feed store or order on-line. I've heard peppermint oil works, but haven't tried it myself.

In the desert, hawks hunt for mice. Which color mouse would you consider to be the best adapted for life....?

In the desert, hawks hunt for mice. Which color mouse would you consider to be the best adapted for life in the sandy desert: a light- colored mouse or a dark-colored mouse? Explain your answer. In the desert, hawks hunt for mice. Which color mouse would you consider to be the best adapted for life....?
Well in the desert most animals are nocturnal so I don't think it so important, a medium colour is the most common colour sported by animals, non-reflecting on moon light. to be honest most small rodents prefer the night rather than day.

The most important thing is that light is not reflected absorbing any natural light from the moon as to even blend in its silhouette.

But remember the first point due to activity is normally confined to the night, that is main factor that governs its colour. In the desert, hawks hunt for mice. Which color mouse would you consider to be the best adapted for life....?
The best adapted for life in the sandy desert would certainly be the light-colored mouse because the darker coated would be more noticeable by the hawks as the mouse runs along the light colored sand. Also, the light colored coat would reflect more heat from the sun while the dark-colored mouse would absorb more. In the blasting heat of the days, the light colored mouse would be better off.

Consider the ';Also'; statement before adding it into your answer.
im gonna give it to you short and sweet ~ the light one because it would blend in better with the sand

The elements of destiny and freedom in 'Of Mice and Men' by John Steinbeck?

Which are the elements of freedom and destiny? The elements of destiny and freedom in 'Of Mice and Men' by John Steinbeck?
As I remember the elements of freedom were how Lenny and George could could pretty much go wherever they wanted and work wherever they could never worrying about bills or tax etc. In this sense they were ';free';. However, beacuse of their lack of skill and the shortage of work they were never going to become sucessful like they wanted to be. So, despite being free their destiny was never really going to get better. The elements of destiny and freedom in 'Of Mice and Men' by John Steinbeck?
lennie and george are two friends on the road with a dream. they have the freedom to do what they want

however lennie has mentally slow and although he's internally gentle he kills things without meaning to and his path we know will not be happy.

Theres black squirrles in Michigan too and Gray squirrels in Arizona.Design a Study to determine if these mice are separate species...?
Take members of each population of squirrels or mice and attempt to breed them (assuming they are mechanically compatible). If they produce offspring, and the offspring are able to reproduce viable offspring, then they are of the same species. If parental generation's offspring is sterile, then they are not of the same species.

You could also design a lab using restriction enzymes and gel electrophoresis to determine the relatedness of the two populations.

Of Mice and Men--Is Lennie responsible for his bad behavior?

How can u justify he is not responsible with examples from the book? I need specific quotes or partsOf Mice and Men--Is Lennie responsible for his bad behavior?
He is not because he cannot make the distinction between right or wrong. For example, at the beginning of the book, they are run out of tow, becasue Lennie liked touching soft things so he touched this girls dress even though the girl clearly did not want him doing this. Also, he carries around a dead mouse for the same reason, you know liking to touch soft things, and that is clearly not ok, so George throws it away, and of course he accidentally kills Curleys wife, because he could not stop touching her hair and she did not want him to.So she starts yelling and in trying to shut her up, Lennie kills her.Of Mice and Men--Is Lennie responsible for his bad behavior?

Are the electric mice killers any good?

We've tried everything besides getting a cat (can't do that, allergic) to get rid of mice inside the house. Riddex is said to be a scam and homeless mouse, I'm not too sure of.

Regretfully they are not. Besides if the device is supposed to drive them away, where would they go if they are in your house? Any way, glue boards (the commercial kind, like they use in grocery stores) are your best answer. They used to put a dap of this very glue like substance in a ground round meat tray, styrofoam, and just put it in an unaccessable place. For you it means maybe behind the stove, or the fridge, a place the dogs can't get to easily. Then when the mouse goes into the ';goo'; they get stuck. You will hear them ';cheep cheep cheeping'; when they are. I used to take the tray outside away from my house, and let them go. But thats how to do it. The other ';container'; type traps don't work too well, and mouse traps are out, unless you want place them on top of your kitchen counters away from the dogs. Good luck, some trial and error, but you'll get em.
If you mean those electric traps, they work, but they eat batteries.

Try snap traps or glue traps. Old fashioned, but

they've been around so long because they do work.

ANd quotes that support them!! thanks! What are some examples of foreshadowing in ';of mice and Men';?
I don't have a quote, but the scene where the old dog gets shot because it is useless is foreshadowing the death of Lenny where he too is shot in the same way for much the same reason.

The part where George tells Lenny to stay away from Curley and his wife because they will only lead to trouble is also foreshadowing because they do in fact lead to trouble.

If you really don't know and your kind of iffy about your answer please don't tell me. I want to have a surios answer because I am clue less. Can baby mice at 3 weeks and 5 days old drink 1% low fat milk?
    No!

Rats and mice are lactose intolerant, it could make them very sick.

The best thing would be a rodent milk, but those are hard to find and pricey.

Alsoy, or a similar milk free baby formula (powdered or liquid, but powder is easier/cheaper to use)for humans is the next best thing.

If neither of those are available or affordable (be sure to look for dented cans or clearence, you may get a discount) than powdered milk will be fine until you can get something better.

In Of Mice and Men do you think the dream George had about the barn will be the same without Lennie?

    Of course not.

Of Mice and Men is a novella written by Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck. Published in 1937, it tells the tragic story of George Milton and Lennie Small, two displaced migrant ranch workers during the Great Depression in California.

    Based on Steinbeck's own experiences as a bindle stiff in the 1920s (before the arrival of the Okies he would vividly describe in The Grapes of Wrath), the title is taken from Robert Burns's poem, To a Mouse, which are often quoted as: ';The best-laid plans of mice and men/often go awry,'; though in the original Scots of the poem they read: ';The best laid schemes o' mice an' men/Gang aft agley.';

Not at all. George and Lennie are connected because of their friendship and dreams. Part of the cynicism of Of Mice and Men is the destruction of the American dream.

From ShmoopIn Of Mice and Men do you think the dream George had about the barn will be the same without Lennie?
No way. It was only the way it was because they were dreaming it together. I am sure he would not even think about it again, much less follow through with it. The dream was theirs, not his and he would not want to make it come true without him.
Nope, and if it wasn't because of curly and curly's wife george wouldnt't be alone. He should have just ran away when it happened. and the next time he should just keep a closer eye on him then he did the first few time.

Will mice get into my aviary?

If I use bird wire which is described as 13mm x .6mm, will the mice be able to get through it. I ask this as I already have the wire left over from another project. This is woven as in cyclone wire, not fabricated with a square pattern. It has a hexagonal pattern. Will mice get into my aviary?
That size of spacing would probably keep out all but the most tiny ones. Keep in mind you also have to be sure you can keep out snakes, which are much more of a danger to birds than mice. You also have to bury the bottom of it at least 6 inches and 12 inches is even better to keep out burrowing animals. Another thing to be careful of is the material it is made from. If it contains either lead or zinc or both, it can be dangerous as long term exposure by climbing on it with their beaks can lead to heavy metal poisoning. Will mice get into my aviary?
The 13 mm hexagonal would mean 13mm by 13mm, and the .6mm is the guage of the wire.

This is whats usually known as chicken wire. The guage can be a little thin. Some birds such as parrots can bite through that guage wire.

Mice can get through any hole around 10-12 mm, so YES they will get through. If you check the commercial mice baitboxes you will see the holes each end of the baitboxes are 10-12 mm and they get in there very easily.....not just babies but adults.

Best way to go is make sure there is metal sides on the aviary up to at least two feet above ground level and of course concrete base as mice and rats WILL dig in.
Be careful, because mice can chew off their legs, etc. Make sure you keep them somewhere safe.

I'v tried glue traps and the dumb thing tokk the food and left the trap, mouse traps all i got was a hurt finger... any suggestions?ANy Natural remidies to get rid of mice?
Here is the absolute best.....and it works!!! Get some oil of peppermint, soak cottonballs in it and place around the outside of your home and little hidden spots in the home. The smell of the oil is very strong, so don't use it all through the house. Mice and bugs hate it. Once you have the mice out, continue to put the cotton balls around the outside of your house/garage/yard. We use it in our cottage up north, and haven't seen one mouse since we started. Good luck!

Also, watch out for the mouse killer.........dcon, etc.... the mice will take the food and hide it in your couch cushions, under your mattresses, all over...to store as food for later.ANy Natural remidies to get rid of mice?
I don't know what they're called but they have some that are like cages that the rat goes in and then the door shuts behind him and doesn't kill the rat and you don't have to deal with setting the trap spring or anything. maybe try finding them at target or something? I'll try to keep googling them to be more helpful, haha.
Coke a cola. Seriously it works. They will drink it and since they dont have the ability to burp the carbination kills them. Take a little dish ( like a peanut butter lid and every 6-8 hours fill it with fresh coke. Its kinda a pain in the a** but at least its safe.
You really need to call in a professional pest control company , they know how to take care of a mouse problem in a safe and effective manner.
A cat. Best way to get them out!
Ok the poison works great and only takes a day to work once ingested. If you are using the poison that is blue you may notice blue mouse poop. The only two problems with this is #1 what if your baby found it and #2 if the mouse eats it then hides and dies you may not find it and it will stink.Try peppermint oil. Peppermint oil is a natural deterrent. The smell is simply too intense for rodents and they will not try to go near it. It also helps to mask the scent of any tasty morsels that have been missed when cleaning. You can get peppermint oil in most health food stores and even some major grocery stores. Place a drop or two on a cotton ball. Place the cotton balls in areas where mice are likely to enter your house, by doorways or heat vents, etc. Another helpful deterrent is to grow peppermint plants near the entryways. You can use the mint in cooking as well as it serving a deterrent purpose.

Seal the possible entries. Mice can get through tiny holes (if the head can get through, the body can), but the best way of having a mice free house is to close any possible entry. While this can be hard to achieve in old houses, it is the most effective solution. A good way to board up small holes is by using green kitchen pads (those used for cleaning pans and such) cut to the right size.

Stick steel wool in mouse holes. Steel wool pads will prevent mice from using the hole to get back into your house. Better still, it's too tough for mice to chew through.

Place tubs of used kitty litter around entrances the house. The mice will sniff the smell of cat urine and clear off in a jiffy.

Keep your home clean. If there is nothing to eat, they will be less likely to stay.

Can you make a glue trap for mice and rats if not what is the best way to catch them in a cage trap what bait?

the rats are getting my chicken eggs and i am getting chicks soon and i dont want them to get them like they did my friends thank youCan you make a glue trap for mice and rats if not what is the best way to catch them in a cage trap what bait?
    Do NOT use glue traps!!! They are seriously inhumane because the animal gets stuck and sits there and starves for days or it's face gets stuck in the glue and it suffocates!!! %26gt;_%26lt;

If you absolutely MUST kill the rats/mice than I strongly suggest you use ';snap traps'; that way there is no suffering. :/

If you have a bigger heart than I would rather you get some live traps and release them some where else. :)Can you make a glue trap for mice and rats if not what is the best way to catch them in a cage trap what bait?
NEVER use glue traps. They are horrible. And there is a possibility that your chickens/chicks could get stuck to them as well.

When an animal gets stuck in a glue trap they will struggle to escape. This means ripping flesh, breaking bones, some animals may even chew through limbs to escape. Some suffocate. It's a slow and gruesome death.

If you are concerned for your chickens set up some live traps, or secure the area they live in so that the rats cannot get in.

Edit: I have seen plenty of people suggest snap traps. These are also not humane. There is no guarantee that it will snap the neck/back of a rodent and kill them quickly. Some get stuck and struggle to escape for hours, or have internal injuries and unable to even attempt to move. Which means you will have to go in wherever you keep your chickens and you may have to take out still struggling rodents that are a mess to even look at.

Really any trap that attempts to kill an animal has no guarantee of killing in a quick humane manner. It's sad to say. If you are prepared for a heart wrenching scene of gore, you can try, but the safest and most humane way is to just get live traps.
you can't make your own glue traps... suggest either the snap traps that break their necks (a more humane way to go) or poison that your chickens can't get into... there is also a company that makes a trap that electrocutes the mice http://www.victorpest.com/

    or make a bucket trap:

    http://journal.chrisglass.com/2005/09/ho鈥?/a>
    Glue traps are absolutley inhumane.

It is a slow painful death for it.

Why don't you set up a HUMANE trap which will not harm it, then later release it back in the wild. Like another user said if you MUST kill them (which I strongly recommend and hope you dont) use snap traps. Then it's a quick pain free death.

    Please use a humane trap
crush some glass and put it in some peanut butter it kills them but take it away when the chicks hatch

If the ploral word for mouse is mice, does that mean that the ploral word for spouce is spice?

Okay! I obviously spelled SOUSE incorrectly the last time I posted this question, and thus broke some kind of geek/loser code of conduct because I got some pretty rediculous feedback so I figured I'd give you people another chance to prove you can look past spelling errors, and actually use that thing....oh yeah, YOUR IMAGINATION!If the ploral word for mouse is mice, does that mean that the ploral word for spouce is spice?
It is plural, not ploral and spouse, not spouce.

And no it's spouses. But why is the plural of goose, geese when the plural of moose isn't meese? If the ploral word for mouse is mice, does that mean that the ploral word for spouce is spice?
Well, those are good ones, but the ones that get me are the ones that are both singluar AND plural! In my head, more than one fish will always be fishes!!

    Also, the ones that end in ';s'; and are pluralized by adding an ';i'; always kill me because there are actually only a few, but there are lots of ';s'; words that get the ';i'; even thouth they don't need them: penis is pluralized by adding ';es'; but I've seen it numerous times, even in medical journals, as ';peni.';
    The answer is:

No, English is very irregular. There are exceptions to every rule in English, and you've encountered one.
If by ';spouce'; you mean ';spouse'; as in wife/husband, no. The plural of spouse is spouses, spice is something else.
    I imagine you mean p-l-u-r-a-l not ';ploral';
It was a noble attempt, friend. But you will see, from the answers to this question, that many of us are completely lacking a sense of humor about language.

';Souse';, a drunk, could CERTAINLY be pluralized by saying ';sice,'; or ';spouse'; made plural with ';spice';--and why would ANYONE object to that obvious play on words? Is there anywhere a man or woman who doesn't find the idea of more than one spouse spicy?

Similarly, there are other plays on words that go begging: E.g, I refer to the openings at the ends of a hose as 'hostrils.' Nobody gets the joke.

Ah, well, one gets more or less used to being surrounded by knee-jerk gravitas. Or at least, one stops crying about it. Only took me fifty years for that, and by the time I'm eighty, I should sound quite like a randy kookaburra, for laughing all the time at my fellow man's vanity.
If you write the word ';ploral'; twice, is that plural?
However you spell it the answer is still no!

The mouse involved in the YouTube video was almost certainly one of the two species of grasshopper mice. These mice are unusual in that their normal diet is meat, in the form of insects, spiders, scorpions, and occasionally other mice. I have located a comment in the literature that states that grasshopper mice handle scorpion prey differently than other prey, which was ';not related to the neurotoxic components of these scorpions' venoms, to which the mice are resistant. Instead, the difficulties appeared to result from other constituents of Centruroides' venom that cause intense, short-term pain.'; (Centruroides is the genus name of the scorpion species being preyed upon.)

The article citation is below. Are mice immune to scorpion venom?
Scorpion would win, if it could catch the mouse... Because yes, its venom would paralyse/kill the mouse.
i think it is cause i saw a video where scorpion hit it with it's tail 15 times and the mice was still standing. i think the scorpion would win.
i have no idea and thats weird but hope u get the right answer
    hopefully not

The mice that come in your home..do they hurt humans or they just eat the food?

Do mice hurt the people living in the house? The mice that come in your home..do they hurt humans or they just eat the food?
They just eat the food. Although, they do carry diseases and are very dirty. If they have been in your food, trash it immediately. If the food is consumed, it could be fatal, so in that case, they do harm humans, just indirectly. The mice that come in your home..do they hurt humans or they just eat the food?
Mice wont hurt u, but they do carried diseases and are dirty. They can leave droppings everywhere, get decon and get rid of them, they can make u sick.
Well : yes if certain type of ';Feild Mice'; they are dangerous

Depends on where you live, if you live in the southwest, then they may have hanta virus. Which is very deadly to humans, if you live in the northern states, then what you have are probably field mice, which are not dangerous, I used to play with them when I was a child. They just eat food, they are very small about the size of a hamster, maybe smaller, anything bigger than that is a rat of some kind, if this is the case I would call an exterminator.
    definitely not healthy.
Mice bring disease which is harmful to Humans.
no..they're afraid of human..how can they hurt you..they're smaller than you..
They can be very harmful in spreading disease.........check out the following: hantivirus

    Mark
You should do reserch on that...and no..they are a fraid of you more then you are afraid of them.....they mostly crawl behind things and in little places...they might come out like at nigh..you might wanna get ride of them.....before they make nest and have babies.
Not directly. Mice won't atatck humans or hurt them unless provoked, such as if you play with wild mice (as wit any animal, they attack is feeled threatend). They will just nibble on food in reach, and other stuff.

They could carry a disease which might infect humans and spread.

SO the answer is no, and yes.
My dorm has been infested with mice since we got back from Christmas break two weeks ago, and there are still a couple wandering free, avoiding the mousetraps. There has been no incident on the entire hall of people actually being hurt in any way by one of the mice (although there have been quite a few screams from the girls afraid of them). They're just here for the food, and the warmth.
yes mice can carry diseases and are unwanted. and I hate mice soooo much..
Mice will most likely come into your home for warmth. They will not harm a human except that they could carry disease and you don't want them multiplying inside the house. Mice are very prolific! They come out at night and don't like light. We leave a light on in our basement at night as they can come in around the basement garage door. They can squeeze through very small spaces. They also get into attics. If one dies in the wall of the house, your house will be unlivable because of the smell! That is not healthy, either.

Do you believe in the saying that people who hate cats are probably mice in their past lives?

Maybe yes or maybe no. That it depends if they have resemblance of a mouse maybe yes (observe them squeak even asleep). But then also they could have been probably reincarnated jealous miserable dogs when their master petted mostly their cats first before those lonely doggies.^^

Or maybe they were probably being a devoured smaller lizards by a such a cutie playful cat! prrrrrrr..^^

Do you believe in the saying that people who hate cats are probably mice in their past lives?
depends on your beliefs. Westerners believe that people only reincarnate back into people although horses, dogs, and cats can also since they are here to help us but they can be any of the 3. Another less common belief is that we all start as bugs and work our way through different lessons as different animals which means we were all mice at one time.

I would agree with the person above about how cats are independent, they do their own thing. (I can't wait for level 2 so I can give people a thumbs up). They can turn a person off with their personality just as another person can. In this case, the person becomes somewhat of a bigot believing that all cats are the same and have the same attitude and/or mental issue. Their ego my even feel threatened by them. Plus, those allergies don't help the situation either.
I do believe that yes. Mice or some other scoundrel rodent. Oh and I'm allergic to cats, always have been, but I still have three cos cats are great and my allergies can go get damned.
    Your question made me giggle...

I'm gonna roll with that now tho. Much thanks. :]

    ';I HATE CATS';

    ';%26gt;.%26gt; That's cause one tried to eat you';

    XD *sleepy*
No. People hate cats because cats are independent creatures. Humans like to feel needed. I hate them because they make me sneeze...and they are evil ;)
That's an interesting saying, I haven't heard it before. I find that it's the case with some people.
Yes, and I also believe that people who love cats were cats in their past lives.
Not all. People have likes and dislikes and it's all part of being human.
    No. They like dogs.
no, but i heard that if you hate mice, then you probably were a cheese in your past life
I most certainly do. cute kitty.

  • What are the chances of deer mice having Hantavirus?

Especially in the northern eastern states like NH, VT, ME?What are the chances of deer mice having Hantavirus?
It seems that the chances are likely but not necessarily of it being dangerous to humans. I would always take great care when sweeping out dusty places or rooms that might harbor mice.

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/hanta鈥?/a>What are the chances of deer mice having Hantavirus?
It depends where in particular in the Northeast. But no matter where you are, there's always a chance. It's a chance you don't have to take. Having a cat in your home will help eliminate any mouse problem. If that's not an option, try traps or poison. If you live-trap them, make sure you release them 50 miles or more away, else they usually return.
Regions with the highest incidences of HCPS include Patagonian Argentina, Chile, Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Panama,

Mice in Manhattan always the case?

Is it possible to have a mouse free apartment in NYC? We are thinking of moving back into the city, but I am TERRIFIED of mice, and that would be a good enough reason for me to deal with a 1.5 hour commute each way! Thanks in advance.Mice in Manhattan always the case?
There are mice everywhere. They are prolific breeders and can reproduce in about 21 days. New mice can mate in less than 2 months, so it is impossible to find a place where mice cannot live. They are the second most successful mammal after humans.

The secret to living with mice is to have a good trapping strategy. Keep traps out at all times with reasonably free bait. I think peanut butter works best. It is not impossible to have a mouse-free house if you stay on top of the trapping.

Has this happened with your pet mice ?

This question applies to people who have or have had pet mice. Once, I bought a cage and a pair of mice. The store-owner said that one was male and the other was female. Then a few nights later, someone showed me that the female mouse was eating the head of the male mouse! It was a bit odd for me, why did the female eat the males head and has this happened to your pet? thanksHas this happened with your pet mice ?
This is actually semi-common in pet store mice. I am assuming you were unable to verify the sex of the mice? I have only heard of this happening in cages that had same sex mice. It sounds like they were the same and they were fighting for control. Did you notice any aggression in them when you brought them home? If they were not used to being together in a cage by themselves they could have tried to establish dominance which can sometimes end in one of them getting seriously injured or dead. If you can, get a third party (not the pet store you got them from!) to sex the mouse you have and the body of the other. If they are the same I would go back to the pet store and get your money back.

How to get ride of dust mice in my home?

It is almost impossible to rid your home of dust mites, but you can do some things to minimize their presence in your house. They are microscopic creatures that eat the dust and skin flakes off of you - so they are mostly living in your bed and couch. Wash your sheets and blankets in hot water and dry on hot. Get rid of feather pillows and down/feather comforters - these are dist mites' favorite living areas. Buy hypoallergenic (thats the code word for anti-dustmite) pillow covers and mattress covers. They are so finely woven that the mites cant travel through them. Buy a HEPA air filter that you can plug in in your bedroom or living room and it will suck the tiny particles out of the air. Get rid of carpets and curtains - get a hardwood floor or tile floor and buy a nice carpet that you can wash or put out in the sun to clean. Get bamboo rolldown shades instead of curtains. If you are allergic - take an antihistamine once in a while. If you are just uncomfortable with the idea of mites, learn to accept them - every home in the western world has them - they wont hurt you, give you disease, or make you sick - they are just microscopic little bugs that eat your waste. good luck!!How to get ride of dust mice in my home?
Are you speaking about ';dust mites'; ? Believe this or not, dust mites do not like the light so, making your bed actually helps them. If you leave your bed unmade, it creates a barrier against them. Really.

Wash the bedding twice a week, keep it clean. My wife, after seeing what a dust mite looks like, does the bedding three times a week now, She said she isn't going to have those creatures in her bed.

She also uses a oil mop to clean the entire bedroom twice a week and keeps it spotless. Open the windows when possible and let the air and sunshine in. It also keeps it fresh in there. How to get ride of dust mice in my home?
No, they're the cutest little things.

    You mean dust mites?

    Clean,clean, clean.

Actually, if your house is infested with them in every room; there probably are specific cleaning products for this as well as vacuuming and cleaning though.

  • What things do I need to buy to in order to have 2 mice?

Have you bought the mice already? If not be wary of buying them at a pet store. It's common for rodents sold in pet stores to be pregnant. They might also be ill.

Try a local shelter and see if you can rescue a mouse before trying to pet store.

If you have caught a wild mouse, chances are it will never become tame. I've tried this in the past, because I didn't want to kill it, and it really didn't work out. I ended up releasing it into a forest.

Buy a hamster cage preferably with wires instead of plastic. Avoid the cages with mesh bottoms as it is very uncomfortable for animals to stand on and can actually cause injury.

Get a wheel, a salt toy (which they never use but it's good to have it there just in case), specially formulated mouse food, a water bowl or a water bottle (I've never found a water bottle that doesn't drip) and some bedding. Don't use pine or ceder as it is not safe for any small animal.

Give the mouse fresh veggies and fruit once every few days but watch for diarrhea.

IMPORTANT - Do not let pregnant women around the mouse or any other rodent including hamsters and guinea pigs. Pregnant women can contract a potentially serious disease from small animals called Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus. What things do I need to buy to in order to have 2 mice?
    The usual,

Cage – including a house, water bottle, food bowl, sawdust, bedding (looks like cotton wool or shredded paper)

Food – including daily food and treats (these could be the stick that hand from the roof, small mouse friendly choc drops etc)

Cleaning bits – cage disinfectant, sponge and towel 9to dry cage after cleaning)

Toy, exercise ball (this is a small round ball for them to run about in) wooden chews, tunnels etc

You can normally buy a starter kit that has most of this and a book for added info, that way you can just top up when things run down.

Oh when buying the mice make sure you don’t get a mixed pair as they will breed and regularly so 2 will soon become 20!What things do I need to buy to in order to have 2 mice?
I would buy a small wire cage, a big bag of paper bedding for the bottom, a wheel (not a wire one, that will hurt their little feets), a sleeping thingie (small enough to be cozy, big enough for two) and maybe a toy of some kind for them to climb on.

I'd get a food bowl, some gnawing bites, and a water dripper. As for food, I'd get pellets for all the time, and some seeds for special treats. The pellets have all the nutrition the mice will need, but the seeds are yummier!

Oh, and keep the cardboard box the pet store sends them home in: it's handy to have a place to put them when you clean their cage. Good luck!
You need the terrarium that they'll be living in, a non-wire wheel for excercise (their feet get caught in the wire ones), a waterbottle, food dish, cedar shavings, and food, of course! Make sure to do your homework on mice before you get them. They are extremely dirty pets-like birds, they don't really look particularly messy, but trust me-they are. You have to change shavings often-especially if they climb the wheel, chew the edges of the tank, cause the waterbottle to not hold up, soak the shavings, and reek of ammonia for a day and a half. Haha... Believe it or not, mice are a bigger responsibility than they look like.
A cage. Get the biggest and best you can - I personally wouldn't dream of keeping a pair of mice in a 10 gal tank! If you can find a normal plastic and wire cage with the bars close enough together these are great as mice love to climb.

A house for them to sleep in. This can be a store bought one of any type, or an empty cardboard box, or cermaic plant pot etc.

A running wheel. Get one of the plastic ones that is solid. The ones with open metal bars can trap their feet and tails and cause serious injury.

A water bottle (bowls are too messy, easily spilled etc)

    Safe bedding and nesting material.

Bedding (i.e. the stuff on the floor of the cage should be aspen or carefresh. Do not use pine or cedar shavings as these can cause respiratory and liver disease)

Nesting material (the stuff they sleep in) should be something like paper wool (aka ';safe bedding';). The cotton woold type stuff is not so good.

Decent quality mouse food (not hamster food!)

This is the bare minimum that you need - but if you get a big enough cage you can add all sorts of toys and furniture, eg store bought toys, cardboard boxes and tubes, different places to hide and sleep etc. Mice are really industrious, active little animals - they love having lots to do. Cardboard and wooden toys are great as the mice can gnaw on them - and the cardboard they may shred to make more nesting material.

A food bowl is optional. Most people use them - I choose not to for mice. They are a foraging species, so I always ';scatter fed'; them - mixing the food into the bedding, hiding it in toys etc. This way they have to find it, which keeps them occupied and stops them getting bored.

Finally make sure you get 2 mice of the same sex - otherwise you could end up with 12 pups every 3 weeks! Check out some books and websites on how to sex mice, so you can double check them yourself before taking them home.
you don't really need to buy much allot of it you would already have around the house. things like the cardboard tube from a toilet roll is perfect for them to play in, old newspaper's can be riped up and used for padding.

so all you really need is a class cage they cant get out of (with breathing holes lol) and food.
A cage or container to keep them in which is large enough for two mice.

    Two mice.

    Mouse food

    Water bottle %26amp; food container

    Some form of bedding

Cage cleaning equipment (sponge, disinfectant etc...)

Mouse toys, to keep your mice entertained that they can gnaw on or do whatever mice do...
a cage, prefurably plastic with holes up the top, mice can squeeze through wire ones. food/water container water lyk one of those bottle things, mouse food, bedding, like cardboard kitty litter or shredded paper, a lil house so they can sleep. and stuff for them to play with like ladders, spinny wheel thingy, tunnels ect

oh, and summet for them to chew on. some ppl use wood, but u can actually by stuff that wont harm them incase they get some splinters

oh yea,,....you need the 2 mice aswell
    -Food

    -bedding (NOT cedar or pine)

-food bowl (you could probably find something useable around the house)

    -Water bottle

    -cage

Thats it! I have two females myself and they are extremely low maintenance. I strongly recommend getting two girls because boy and boy = fighting, girl and boy =LOTS of babies, and just one can die of depression/ loneliness. They are really fun pets and I hope you enjoy them!
I had a mouse. You aren't supposed to only have one, they like company.

My mouse liked the rotastak cage with all the tubes and stuff. Likes toilet rolls. He was very tame and liked being stroked. It took him ages how to use his wheel though. About a month till he figured out what it did and how to use it!
A 10 gallon tank is the perfect cage for 2 mice, you also need some sort of house, like an igloo or something, and a food bowl, a water bottle, bedding, and some wood things/sticks to chew on.
    cage-20$

    bedding-4$

    hamster wheel-included in cage

    two mice-10-20$

water dish or container-included in cage

    little bit of cotton-1$

    thats all,happy mice buying!
If you leave your house really dirty, and just throw garbage all over the place, you should be able to have at least 2 mice. Most people are able to accomplish this with much much less.
    you need:

    •10 gallon tank

    •aspen bedding

    •food

    •MICE

    •wheel

    •water bottle

    •chew toys
little cage, mice food pine wood chips, newspaper, old tissue boxes, rolls from paper towels,
I think that you should get some food and set up the old fashion
    One box of Decon

I need 1 or 2 dynamic characters .................and 1 or 2 static characters PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh yeah and QUOTES!Who are two characters that are static and dynamic in the novel OF MICE AND MEN by john steinbeck?
George is a dynamic character b/c he has such a complex relationship with Lennie. He loves him like a brother, diespite all the trouble he causes, but in the end he is forced to kill him. This shows how George grows and eventually understands that Lennie is dangerous, even though he doesn't mean to be. A good static character is the ranch owner's son (can't remember his name, his wife is the one who died). His only purpose in the story is to dislike Lennie, thus causing problems, and because that is the only thing he does his character is not developed past ';annoying, arrogant hater of Lennie.'; At the end of the story he has not grown or changed; he continues to hunt Lennie and act as he did at the beginning.

Sorry, read it a few years ago, so no quotes!Who are two characters that are static and dynamic in the novel OF MICE AND MEN by john steinbeck?
the two main characters are George and Lennie. they are probably the most dynamic characters in the story.
the old man with the dog and Lennie are static -- they don't change, and they never will change

George is dynamic, he has the power to change

    Good luck :D

U may sometimes see ur rat, dont try to scare it, if u managed to keep eye contact turn away and walk away, and in the night time if it make sounds dont scare it inface you should encourage by giving some leftover food. And then for the final blow, buy a mousetrap.....A good way of getting my mice to know me?
The best way with mice is to handle them.

Although mice go through fleeing age, which is when them jump a lot.

other than that you can put your hand in the the tank/cage with they for 5 minutes or more if you like a few times a day, as many as you like.

Eventually if not straight away they will come and find out what you are, e.g climb on your hand and maybe have a nibble.
The more you interact with your mice, the friendlier they'll become (most of the time). Spend time near their cage, talking softly to them or just being close. Put your hand inside the cage %26amp; hold it still so your mice can sniff you or even climb on you. This works even better if you've got treats for them in your open palm.

Take a paper towel %26amp; ';wear'; it next to your skin for awhile before giving it to your mice to make a nest with.
Pick them up now! the longer you wait for your mice to ';get to know you';, the more difficult it will be to make them friendly. Do you think you should engage them in friendly conversation first? Read them your memoirs? NO. pick them up and talk to them. feed them treats ans so fourth.

What is the meaning of the title of John Steinbeck's novel ';Of Mice and Men?

    its from a robert burns poem ';to a mouse';

Here is the stanza where it is found

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane

In proving foresight may be vain:

The best laid schemes o' mice an' men

    Gang aft a-gley,

An lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,

    For promised joy.

it is about a mouse that makes ready for winter to find the home built ploughed up

and though foresighted and planned, it all went to ruin. What is the meaning of the title of John Steinbeck's novel ';Of Mice and Men?
the above is only half the quote and therefore means nothing.

The rest of it is ';gang aft agley'; which means ';often go wrong.'' It is from the Scottish poet Robert Burns in To a Mouse. What is the meaning of the title of John Steinbeck's novel ';Of Mice and Men?
it's all encompassing of every living thing.
Some men act like mice, some men act like men.
it's a play off of the phrase, ';the best laid plans of mice and men...';, which figuratively means that things don't always work out the way you plan them to. Such is the case in the book, things didn't go their way.

Well, there's optical, wheel, lazar, and wireless. I'm guessing you're thinking optical or wheel since those are the most common.
    ball and laser
There are 3. A regular ball mouse... An Optical Mouse... And what is called a TrackBall mouse... The TrackBall is a mouse that sits in one spot and you just move the little ball around with your thumb or fingers depending on the style... An Optical mouse just works better than a Ball Mouse... And a ball Mouse is just standard...

What is the significance of George Milton's surname in the book 'Of Mice and Men' by John Steinbeck?

Steinbeck was greatly inspired by the works of the English Poet, John Milton. Milton wrote poems, notably, Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained and Samson.

George, as a name, means farmer in Greek; I'd say the given name seems truer to his relevance in the story. What is the significance of George Milton's surname in the book 'Of Mice and Men' by John Steinbeck?
Milton...that's the name of a very famous poet...isn't George Milton a deep kinda character...?? if not...then it's probably meant to be ironic...

    Your question made me giggle...

I'm gonna roll with that now tho. Much thanks. :]

    ';I HATE CATS';

    ';%26gt;.%26gt; That's cause one tried to eat you';

    XD *sleepy*
    No. They like dogs.
no, but i heard that if you hate mice, then you probably were a cheese in your past life
I most certainly do. cute kitty.
    Hmm

I really dont know to be honest.

    But I guess so???

    o.o.
    not realy mmmm no

What are the chances of deer mice having Hantavirus?

Especially in the northern eastern states like NH, VT, ME?What are the chances of deer mice having Hantavirus?
It seems that the chances are likely but not necessarily of it being dangerous to humans. I would always take great care when sweeping out dusty places or rooms that might harbor mice.
