George is a dynamic character b/c he has such a complex relationship with Lennie. He loves him like a brother, diespite all the trouble he causes, but in the end he is forced to kill him. This shows how George grows and eventually understands that Lennie is dangerous, even though he doesn't mean to be. A good static character is the ranch owner's son (can't remember his name, his wife is the one who died). His only purpose in the story is to dislike Lennie, thus causing problems, and because that is the only thing he does his character is not developed past ';annoying, arrogant hater of Lennie.'; At the end of the story he has not grown or changed; he continues to hunt Lennie and act as he did at the beginning.

the two main characters are George and Lennie. they are probably the most dynamic characters in the story.
the old man with the dog and Lennie are static -- they don't change, and they never will change





George is dynamic, he has the power to change
